The Skinny

It is winter! As of lately it has been super cold.  Verry little open water.   I strongly discourage trying to fish in these conditions.

The Skinny

Fishing is Good to great! Winter conditions,  low flows midges are going to dominate the hatch right now.  Your worms, eggs, leaches and scuds will most likely out produce the midges most days. Streamer fishing is still in play as the brown trout linger from their spawn this last fall.  The browns are starting to bulk  back up and the rainbows will soon start to put on weight for the spring spawn.  Winter can be a great time to be at the Mile as there are fewer people than any other time of the year.  Take advantage of our tail water spring special $550 for Mile, Reef, and Horn Trips till April 15th.

Bugs to float: midges

Bugs to pull:   Thin Mints, Rusty trombones, goldee

Bugs to drift:  Midges (zebra, mayhems, ju ju)  annelids( rock and san juan worms) Caddis( soft hackles, graphic caddis, prince nymphs)
